Special Arrangements at Helsinki Central Railway Station’s Platform Area

The development project at Helsinki Central Railway Station, which began in 2019, has now entered its second phase. As part of this phase, the station’s platform area will undergo a renewal to better meet modern needs. These renovation works will bring temporary changes to pedestrian routes at the station.

The development project of the main railway station, which began in 2019, has already transformed many familiar spaces in the building, and the second phase, running until 2026, is no exception.

The renovation of the kiosk hall has been completed

The renovation, which began a year ago in the kiosk hall, has now been completed in this phase. The hall’s window frames have been refurbished, the walls and ceiling have been renovated and painted, and R-kioski, Superbowl, Uppercrust, and Starbucks have already been serving customers in their new spaces for some time.

The Helsinki Central Railway Station is the hub for train, bus, and metro transportation. Up to 250,000 visitors pass through the station every day.
