The kiosk hall renovation is complete

The renovation of the kiosk hall, which began a year ago, has now been completed in this phase. The window frames have been refurbished, the walls and ceiling have been renovated and painted, and R-kioski, Superbowl, Uppercrust, and Starbucks have already been serving customers in their new spaces for some time.

A New Era for the Platform Area

When it opened in 1919, the traffic volumes at the Main Railway Station and the various forms of transportation concentrated at the station were completely different from today. Accordingly, the needs for smooth transportation or the services that tourists need are also different.

The renovation of the platform area will bring with it many innovations that will improve smoothness and comfort, such as automatic doors that increase accessibility, spacious glass-walled retail spaces, and new digital displays and desirable seating.

The renovation is divided into three phases, with completion expected in spring 2026

During the renovation work, which is progressing in phases, the passageways in the platform area will have to be temporarily restricted on several occasions. Special attention will be paid to the safety of those moving around the station at all stages, and the passage will be kept as easy as possible throughout the renovation. The changing arrangements will be communicated with visible signs at the station, on this website and on the Main Station's social media channels.

The renovation is part of phase 2 of the comprehensive development project of the Main Station, which includes, in addition to the platform area, the renovation of the kiosk hall's commercial premises and improved lighting, a brewery, brewery restaurant and event center to be built on several floors, and a food court-type restaurant world opening into the historic restaurant hall.
