Kaisantunneli Bicycle Garage

Managed by Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd, the garage has nearly 900 parking spaces for bicycles. The Bicycle Garage is designed to accommodate the requirements of different types of bicycles. The Bicycle Garage features frame-locking racks for as many bikes as possible, taking into account the requirements of different types of bicycles as well as various supporting services for cycling. Bicycles can be stored in the Bicycle Garage for up to 10 days at a time.

The Bicycle Garage offers the following services:

• frame-locking parking spaces
• bicycle washing station
• bicycle maintenance station (tools, pump for filling the bike tyres, pressure meter)
• possibility to charge electric bicycle batteries (free of charge in the pilot stage)
• water point
• item storage lockers
• bicycle maintenance service subject to a fee offered by a private bicycle maintenance company (Helsingin Pyörähuolto Oy)

Starting from June 10, access to the Kaisantunneli Bike Parking Facility requires cyclists to be registered users of HSL’s Bicycle Parking Service, with strong identification through their HSL account. A registered user can enter the Bike Parking Facility either with an HSL card and PIN code or with an Android phone using the HSL Bicycle Parking Pass added to Google Wallet. The use of the facility will be even more secure in the future, as all users must register and verify their identity.
